7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Global News Canada Ltd. and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total direct liability for any claims arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 EUR, whichever is lower.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Global News Canada Ltd. and its directors, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your infringement of any rights of a third party.

11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
You agree that the courts located in Toronto, Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not subject to an alternative resolution process described below, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
12. Dispute Resolution
Before initiating any legal proceeding, you agree to contact us and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days. You can contact us using the details in the Contact section below. Please include sufficient information to identify your concern and how you would like it resolved.
If we are unable to resolve the dispute within the 30-day informal period, either party may pursue legal action in accordance with the Governing Law and Jurisdiction section.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if we must do so to comply with law, protect the security of the Service, or prevent harm to users or third parties.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. The following sections will survive termination: Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law and Jurisdiction, Dispute Resolution, and any other provisions that by their nature should survive.
14. Modifications to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will become effective 14 days after posting on this page unless a shorter period is required to address legal or security issues. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
